NFT Licenses: Summary & use cases
We believe creators and collectors alike benefit from knowing what rights are attached to the Work associated with the NFTs they own, sell, and acquire. Creators may choose one of the NFT Licenses summarized below (see the full legal terms), which will apply to their Work and will govern what the purchasers of the NFT can and cannot do with the Work:
Amberfi General License – NFT holders are free to use the Work (including exact duplicates) for non-commercial purposes including (a) personal use in online games; (b) social media; (c) personal websites and galleries; (d) personal presentations; and (e) editorial uses.
The license can be found at nftlicenses.org/general
Amberfi Limited Commercial License – NFT holders are free to use the Work in accordance with the General License, as well as for limited commercial uses, including sales totaling less than US$10,000 and creation of merchandise totaling less than 1,000 items.
The license can be found at nftlicenses.org/limited-commercial
Amberfi Unlimited Commercial License – NFT holders are free to use the Work for commercial purposes, with limited exceptions.
The license can be found at nftlicenses.org/unlimited-commercial
Other License – NFT holders are free to use the Work according to rights delineated according to the terms specified by the Creator of the Work.
The license can be found at nftlicenses.org/other-license
Creative Commons License – NFT holders are free to use the Work according to rights delineated in the specific Creative Commons License, as further set out and linked to below. If this NFT is designated with a CC0 License, the Creator has waived all their rights to the Work and has placed it in the public domain, which means NFT holders are free to use the Work for any purpose.
